Work With Us

We work with Departments and Programs on their web sites and web development projects. We also work to build College-wide web-based services to enhance our online experience, and work closely with University web services and constituents to ensure that the best technology and standards are available to everyone on campus. Our work is governed by a policy document and a set of web site standards we drafted in 2008. You should feel free to read them, though they need to be updated a bit.

Our work with Departments and Programs generally falls into one of three categories:

  1. Maintenance Work. Much of what we do for our clients is maintenance work. We can change words, phone numbers, pictures, slides, add content, attach pdf files, add individuals to a staff listing... any of a multitude of tasks that we are happy to perform for our clients if they do not have the time or the expertise. These requests should come from the Department or Program's Web Liaison, and be directed to our departmental email address at clasweb@ku.edu, along with any attachments needed to complete the work. We strive to get maintenance requests done within 48 hours.
  2. Troubleshooting. We also receive a lot of calls when something goes wrong on a client's web site. Either the login no longer works, or a link they have set up just won't go to the right place, or their web editing tool is refusing to work. We suggest using our departmental account here too, at clasweb@ku.edu, but understand if you would rather call us at 864-3787 to see if we can resolve it quickly.
  3. Projects. Everything else is probably a project. For projects, we like to meet face-to-face to discuss your goals and what we can provide, and to come up with a schedule that works for your needs and our workload. Projects are the meat of what we do, and we are pretty busy. We look forward to hearing from you at our email address: clasweb@ku.edu.
